The Blend Express serves gourmet espresso drinks, Boston Stoker Coffees,
pastries and more. Students and faculty often stop by TBE in between classes to
grab a refreshing drink. TBE is conveniently located in the Atrium of Miriam
Hall. In the summer of 2008, the Atrium and TBE went under renovations to
provide students with a fresh new place to study, get-together or hang out
between classes. Along with the makeover, TBE offers a new menu which includes
soda products, juices, and a wide-variety of Vitamin Water and Fuze. The Blend
Express accepts cash, credit card and Flyer Express.

Freshen up your day with fruit! The Blend and The Blend Express are now selling
red apples, bananas, and oranges for only 80 cents each! Stop by and try some

Employee Profiles:
General Manager: Charlie Kastner
Charlie is a junior from Huron, Ohio. As a freshman, Charlie started out at The
Blend as a sales associate then quickly became a barista that managers relied
upon most. Charlie is now the general manager at The Blend Express, and oversees
the daily operations of the division including: inventory issues,
machine maintenance, customer experience, and maintaining the image of The Blend
Express as the face of UD’s School
of Business Administration.
Financial Manager: Tim Bencic
Tim
is a senior accounting major from Highland Heights, Ohio. Tim started at
Stuart's Landing his sophomore year, where he served as a sales associate and
marketing assistant. In March 2009, Tim was promoted as a manager to the
corporate staff role of corporate accountant. This past March, Tim remained a
member of the accounting team and moved to the financial manager role for The
Blend Express, where he currently handles the financial duties and other general
financial management roles for the division.
Director of Human Resources: Nikki Swidarski
Nikki is a junior international business and Spanish major from Hudson, Ohio.
She was hired by The Galley in February 2009 and became the director of human
resources for The Blend and The Blend Express in March 2010. Nikki is
responsible for staff hiring, management, employee relations and maintaining a
high morale at both divisions.
Director of Merchandising: Danielle Phillips
Danielle is a junior marketing and leadership major from Pioneer, Ohio.
She began working as a barista for The Blend Express in September 2008 and was
promoted to director of marketing in March 2009. As the director of
marketing, Danielle plans and carries out all promotions for The Blend and The
Blend Express.
Division History:
The Blend Express opened in September 2002. The concept for an expansion of The
Blend through the addition of a division in the School of Business
Administration (http://business.udayton.edu)
was proposed by Dr. Deb Bickford, Associate Provost for Academic Affairs and
Learning Initiatives. The School granted approval and funding for the venture,
and Flyer Enterprises now has full financial ownership of TBE.
