Tournament Information

The Chill will be hosting its third annual 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on Saturday, February 13th. Proceeds from this tournament will benefit Relay for Life -- an event which raises cancer awareness and promotes cancer research. Sign up for only $15, have fun, change a life.

Rules

1. Each player MUST be a UD student and can be on ONE TEAM ONLY.

2. All games are 15 minutes in length. Each team will play two games of pool play. Winning your pool means advancement to the next round. Losing your pool, no advancement, tournament is over. In the event each team wins one game, the team with the highest point spread in the game they won will advance to the next round.

3. At least two players are required to start the game. If two players do not show within 5 minutes of scheduled game time, the game will be forfeited and the two remaining teams will play each other to determine advancement.

4. Baskets count as one point and baskets from beyond the arc are 2 points.

5. A foul will result in a reset of the play, in which the ball is taken back to the 3-point line.

6. Games will be played on half-courts. After a basket, the ball will be passed into play from the side of the court, and receiving players must be standing behind the three point arc.

7. After a change of possession (ex. defensive rebound), the ball must be taken beyond the 3-point arc to recognize the change of possession.

8. Each team is allotted one 1-minute time-out during a single game. Five minutes will be allotted in between games.

9. No referees; teams are expected to call their own fouls. Court monitor will have overriding control and will call flagrant or obvious violations, as well as keep the official clock. Court monitors will notify players when five minutes and one minute remains in the game. The court monitor is in total control and at his/her discretion can disqualify any player or team at any time with good reason.

10. The players registered must be the players used for the entire tournament (unless the circumstance of a significant injury occurs).

11. At the conclusion of each game, the winning team is required to report their score and their opponent’s name to the tournament director in the center area.

12. Tournament entrance fee of $15.

The CHILL, Flyer Enterprises, sponsors and affiliates assume no liability for any injury occurring during the tournament. By participating in the tournament you accept this stipulation.
